At Obsidian Counselling we offer professional, confidential*, individual and group counselling by our Registered Counsellor Carolyn, using evidence based therapeutic techniques to
enhance your mental health well-being.
Speaking with a Registered Counsellor does not require a visit to your GP or a mental health care plan
prior to making an appointment...you can SELF REFER.
Obsidian Counselling has an holistic view of mental health well-being where the interconnection of the biological, psychological and social aspects of your life may disrupt your mental health well-being. We look at the whole person rather than just your symptoms to work with you to achieve your goals.
...I believe that you are the expert in your own life, but sometimes
things can get a bit muddy and we get stuck, and you just need
someone who will really listen to you and assist you to
see everything from a different perspective, Carolyn
My vision for Obsidian Counselling for Mental Health Well-Being is to provide a warm, welcoming, accepting, non-judgemental, caring and safe space for all my clients, where you are free to be who you truly are.
Everyone is welcome at Obsidian Counselling.

"...one of the things I hear from clients is that they feel frustrated they have to spend their session time explaining to mental health professionals what certain terms mean in relation to identifying from the LGBTIQ+ communities. Whilst I can't claim to know everything, I will take the time between sessions to research the topics discussed, to gain a better understanding, so my clients can spend their valuable time discussing what they want." Carolyn
The working relationship between counsellor and client is one of the most important aspects of what makes counselling work (Wompold, 2015). We understand that going to a new place
for the first time may cause anxiety in some individuals.
With this in mind we would like to offer all prospective new clients the opportunity to have a
30 minute MEET and GREET
consultation with our Registered Counsellor Carolyn and
have a look around the counselling studio
(Note Please: there is no obligation for a follow-up consultation).
We recognise that not everyone works a 9 to 5 roster and would like to be able to make an appointment to see a Registered Counsellor face-to-face outside of these hours.
We offer appointments from 6am to 7pm Thursday to Saturday by arrangement.
There is no surcharge on booking times outside of usual office hours.
